In the dying moments of the 2022 trade period, a three-way trade between Hawthorn, Geelong and Collingwood saw Cooper Stephens join the brown and gold.

We’ve compiled a couple of fast facts so you can get to know our new addition (who is currently away overseas on holiday!)

1. Cooper comes from a family of Hawthorn supporters, with his mum and dad, along with his two sisters, all barracking for the brown and gold.

2. He studies sport science and sport management at Deakin University.

3. Cooper grew up in Colac and played in the state league in the U12's, U15, U16, U18 and was the co-captain at Geelong Falcons.

4. In his draft year of 2019, Cooper blitzed the combine, showing off his impressive endurance capabilities to score a combine-high 21.8 on the Yo-Yo test then run an outstanding time of six minutes and 17 seconds in the 2km time trial.

5. After Cooper arrived to Geelong, Cats premiership captain Joel Selwood acted as his mentor and helped develop the youngster in his early days.
